If we talk about the Coco Chanel biography, we will end up thinking of Gabrielle Coco Chanel as the super idol of the time. The background of Gabrielle Coco Chanel is not as flashy at all as her later days were. She was born in 1883 in Saumur, France. Her mother who was a poor worker gave her birth in very desparate and clumsy conditions. Her mother died when Gabrielle Coco Chanel was only six years old. The five kids were then the responsibility of her father which he denied to carry on and left them. The relatives took care of these kids. Gabrielle Coco Chanel established her first boutique in 1912. The addition of name Coco was due to the reason to get highlighted as a singer. Yes that’s true Gabrielle has been a café singer in the years about 1905. Her name added glamour to her old name. The need of finance made her become mistress some wealthy men and she used their contacts as well later to get her sales enhanced. She established her millinery shop with that financial aid and as those men were having influence in society, they were very helpful in making her simple hat click.
By the 1920s, the designer Chanel introduced tops and shirts by setting a fashion trend with its "little boy" look. The Chanel clothes were promoting relaxed fashion, short skirts, and casual look which were in abrupt disparity to the corset fashions that ruled before. Chanel gave her dresses more popularity by wearing it herself and carrying herself in mannish clothes, and this modification in style and fashion made women feel more confident and liberal.
In ealy 1920’s Chanel launched a perfume, Chanel No. 5, which was big success and is still popular. This product added a great fraction of profits in the financial portfolio of Cahnel business. It is just a speculation that Pierre Werthheimer was in love with Gabrielle Coco Chanel and for this reason he went into partner ship with her. He is still in control of the company as today. He owned major portion of the company as compared to his partner.
Chanel Coco introduced her signature cardigan jacket in the mid 1920’s and her very special and unique "little black dress" in 1926. Her designs and fashions had greater life than the usual life of any fashion. It does not change its core very frequently rather it lasts for years. And sometimes it is carried over to the next generation.
Chanel faced a diminishing popularity phase in the World War I. This was due to the bad impression cast by an affair with Nazi officer. But she regained and restored her popularity as she came back to the fashion industry. Her usual, casual clothing including the Chanel suit once more sparked the flare and became a big success. She then launched pea jackets and bell bottom pants for ladies. She died in 1971.
